Self StudyWHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF A SELF-STUDY?The self study is conducted to determine if an institution should be accredited initially or as a prelude to the periodic accreditation review to giving the institution a set of criteria to evaluate its quality, and the achievement of its mission. This year, Laney College is undergoing a comprehensive and rigorous self-study process. As such, faculty, classified staff, administrators, and students are directly involved in surveying the community, gathering instititional documents, discussing and analyzing findings, and more...in order to confirm the conditions of the college in relationship to specific ACCJC standards. (For specifics about each standard, go to other links, "Accreditation Standards", located to the left of this page). This process will result in the Laney College 2007-2008 Self-Study Report, which will be reviewed and approved by the Peralta Community College District Board of Trustees and submitted to the ACCJC Fall 2008.
